Prem Rawat:
You are fortunate – you are fortunate to be alive. And what makes you alive, at the very fundamental stage, is the coming and going of this breath. If this breath is not coming and going, you will be declared dead.
In fact, it is the final part. They look at it electronically, “Are you alive; are you dead?” You know, “rinnng,” everything is flatlined, flatlined, flatlined? The last thing ... And when this isn’t happening either? They can sign it. The doctor can sign, “You’re dead. You’re gone.”
So, don’t live in imagination. Live in reality. Because reality is beautiful! If you understand and link up with the Divine in you, you’re not going anywhere. Neither can you die. That’s what Kabir says! “How can I die? If the Divine doesn’t die, how can I die?” But he had linked himself to the Divine. What have you linked yourself to?
So, link yourself to that which is real. So, you know, be in that beautiful place; enjoy. Be conscious; be aware. And take full advantage of the time that you have. It’s too short. But it’s supposed to be just the right amount. No more, no less. And when you understand that? You get it.
You know? It’s not about everything else; it’s about you – your life, your existence. You’ve been given the spade. And you have been turned loose in the mine. Dig, dig, dig, dig, dig. This is the wealth that will never ever go away. It’ll always be there.
Prem Rawat
First of all, do you, as a human being, understand who you are?
Do you even know?
Who are you?
You look at your face; you think that’s who you are. You look at your family; this is who you are. You look at your house; this is who you are.
You look at your business; this is who you are. Now let me tell you what I am talking about. I’m not talking about that.
What I’m talking about is the Divine. And as you are on the face of this Earth, one, you are in a body. And this body is made out of certain things. Those things will remain here; they’re part of this Earth. And they will be used for other things. No question about that. But in you is also a little bit of that Divine.
But that’s a wrong statement because the Divine cannot be chopped up into “a little bit or a lot.”
So, the Divine is in you in all the majesty of the Divine.
Now, comes the big question: “Who are you?
The shell? Or part of that Divine?”
If you’re part of the shell, you should be very concerned about how hot it’s going to be, how cold it’s going to be, how many laddoos will be served, how many, you know, whatever!
And what kind of rice is going to be cooked up there?
What kind of bread is it going to be; what kind of butter are they going to serve; is it going to be salted butter; is it going to be unsalted butter; low-fat butter; is it going to be high-fat butter; is it going to be, whatever!
If you’re on a diet. I wonder if you’re on a diet up there.
But which one are you?
If all you have recognized, being alive, is the outer shell...The outer shell has relations. The outer shell feels pain. The outer shell feels sorrow. The outer shell does everything you do. The outer shell says “Me and mine. You and yours.”
Can you imagine the Divine saying “me and mine”?
It’s not possible that something that is everywhere ...?
Nothing, nothing is without that Divine.
Nothing!
The “me and mine” disappears.
Prem Rawat :
People talk about devotion. But without gratitude, there can be no devotion. And what is that devotion? It is the purest form of love. But without gratitude, there’s nothing. There’s nothing. To be able to be thankful for what this Knowledge is all about, to be able to be thankful for what you have been shown.
Do you have the courage to put aside those concepts and look at what you have been shown for what it is worth? Or do you always measure? Do you always carry a scale with you, “Is it heavier or is it lighter; is it heavier; is it lighter; is it heavier; is it lighter?”
You want the best value for your money, right? You’ve got the best value for everything you have ever done. It’s called “life.” It’s the most precious thing that there is. And do you accept it? Or do you look for imperfection?
I’m not offering you any kind of medicine. But I’m offering you a mirror. Because I want you to see, what you have is so incredibly beautiful. It’s so incredibly precious. And to have accepted that – means you accepted the gift. You accepted the gift.
But what you need to do – is you need to be very familiar with the part of you, (as you are familiar with the part of you that is not going to be around), you need to be as familiar with the part that is going to be around.
And the only challenge here is not to accept or understand that divine through your concepts, but to understand that divine through experience.
The addiction to this drug called “concepts” is amazing. Any chance given, people jump on it.
And it shouldn’t be like that. There is a divine. And that divine can be experienced. And that divine should be experienced – in this lifetime. And thoroughly enjoyed! As you enjoy cake, ice cream, samosa, jalebi? Beautiful parks? Rivers, beaches? To enjoy the divine that is within you.
Prem Rawat
The fact of the matter is when you're gone, you're gone.
I know you don't like that. Tell us where we will end up, Tell us we'll come back. And I understand that When you are in a place, even if you go for a vacation, beautiful beaches, beautiful room, beautiful everything. And you have to leave because your vacation is over, there is a desire to want to come back "I'll be back.
Nobody just wants to have ice cream once. Especially if you like it, "I want it again." But believe me, the reality is very sobering. Once you're gone, you're gone. And that's why so many masters, teachers have said, "Be aware of your existence."
This will not happen. This will not happen again and again and again. And again. We do not acknowledge that. Because that scares us. We do not acknowledge that because that doesn't fit into our plan.
We would rather be unconscious. It is better to, or easier to be a couch-potato than to make the effort and be conscious. It is easier to sit there and complain "This isn't right, and that's not right, and this guy did this to me, and that guy did this to me."
And what about what the creator did to you? And what about what the master did to you? Turned... turned your attention to you. Which would not have happened. Because the attention of knowing thyself was not part of your plan. You can go out and engage with the world normally.
And every moment that you engage the world, you can then see the difference of what it is like to be with you and what it is like to be with the rest of the world.
And in my opinion, that's a very big distinction you should always remember. Because the world promises you everything, but offers you nothing. Promises you everything. The inner wisdom even without promising anything gives you everything. No promises need to be made. Here it is, here's the gift.
Take it. Use it. Avoid the hazards of this world. Be in sync with your existence. Recognize the divine within you.
(Prem Rawat) Only when you can do good to yourself.
Only when you can do good to yourself, can you do good to others. It doesn't work any other way.
Maybe people say, "That's not true."
It is true. It is realistically true. This is how it works. If you are not enlightened, then forget about enlightening anybody else.
It would be a mistake. If you don't understand, how are you going to make anybody else understand?
It brings us to the point - who are you? What are you? And what are you all about?
This is very important to understand. This has been said, "Let me tell you a story that cannot be spoken. And if you don't understand it you cannot recite it, you cannot tell." What is the story? The story is, that in the human being is a little bit of the infinite.
So, you've heard before that the infinite is in you. Right?
So what's new? What's new? This is what's new: Go, experience it. This is where my message takes a complete different turn. It's not about, "Oh yeah, just believe me that all that good stuff is in you." There are a lot of people who talk about the infinite, but nobody talks about experiencing the infinite.
There are a lot of people who talk about, "Oh just be good, be kind." Nobody says, "Experience that kindness." "Be kind" becomes a thought, not a feeling. I always thought kindness was a feeling. You feel kindness. You feel somebody's kindness. You don't go up to somebody and say, "I'm being kind to you." So what does it feel like to feel kindness? I'm not going to tell you. Because I want you to feel it in your life.
If I say it, and you believe it, of what I say, then I have failed you completely. And I just want to go back and I want to relate to that little part... The untold story. The unspeakable story. The essence of the infinite is in you.
On one hand you being alive should mean everything to you. Everything. And that everyday you accepted as the greatest gift. And what does your heart want? To dance in joy. What does your being want? To bathe in peace.
That's all. To love being here. Being here. Not here, in this hall. Being here. Being. To love being. Exist, to understand, learn about the self.
When you learn about the self, you cannot ignore the infinite. If you try to learn about the infinite, you will forget about the self.
But if you learn about the self you cannot ignore the infinite. Because the infinite is whilst you are alive, encapsulated in the self.
As we get older, a lot of us feel anxiety. And what does that anxiety come from? It comes from fear, not knowing what’s going to happen to us.
There are things that make us afraid. If we don’t keep the doors of this,
the chambers of the heart clean, then all this garbage settles in. Because our propensity is to doubt that which we shouldn’t doubt.
And because we doubt that which we shouldn’t doubt, what happens? We don’t accept what the reality is. When we don’t accept what the reality is? Everything becomes fake. Everything becomes relative.
Then what is the value of life? Are you thankful? Or not thankful? Which one is it?
One day – and we talked about that here, first; this is one of those Amaroo exclusives:
“Two walls. You came through one wall; you’re going to hit the other wall.” And people are like, “Oh my God, I don’t want to hit that other wall.” Then you shouldn’t have come through the other wall.
What should you be busy doing? You should be busy filling yourself with gratitude, being thankful for having had this opportunity to be here.
I mean, what a show it has been. Truly, what a show it has been. Magnificent. And all you had to do was accept it. The show that you accepted, filled you.
The one that you questioned and wondered and doubted, the moment fled, never, ever to come back.
How do I see it? I see that people are just lost in their concepts.
Take that away… It’s all you have to do is take that away. And something becomes very apparent. Something becomes extremely clear. Something becomes incredibly obvious. That I am a part of that divine. That divine is in me. And that divine never came through that wall, and it’s not going to go through that other wall. That’s me too. And yes, there is a part of me
that did come through that wall and is going to go through that other wall.
But which percentage am I in touch with? The one that goes through the wall? Or the one that doesn’t go through the wall? Which one?
Because when you know, “Ah! There is a part of me that’s not going anywhere – has the same trait and characteristics of the divine: ‘Was. Is. And will be’” – have no reason for fear.
