Prem Rawat:
When we, in our existence, stop seeing the obviousness, the newness of this breath – and the gravity of its joy, the gravity of its beauty, the gravity of its simplicity – then we too get struck by pain, sorrow, suffering, confusion, doubt, fear!
And then we wonder – then we wonder, “Is this it? Is this life?” You know, and it also depends where you are in the movie. (Which part did you miss; which part is still there; which part is still going on?)
But all this! People are still fighting. They were fighting 2,000 years ago! They were fighting at the time of Krishna. They were fighting in World War I. They were fighting in World War II. You would have thought that they would have learned, “Don’t do it. Just don’t do it.”
No. Then came the “II.” And now, again, we’ve got wars going on, a little one here, a little one there, a little one there, and a little one there. It goes out of control, and then this country joins with this country; this country joins with this country; this country joins with this? We’ve got the making of all those things as though it never ever happened.
That’s not new! The wars are not new. The suffering isn’t new. The problems of the world are not new! People following their beliefs and ignoring what is obvious is not new.
Some country comes up with a new currency; that’s not new. Somebody comes up with a new law; that’s not new. What is new – is your breath that comes to you, bringing you the gift of life. This is the gift! I don’t bring you joy; I remind you that the joy is within you. I remind you that what you are looking for, that that which will set you free ...
And when you understand how new this breath is? And it came into you. And you were there to catch it. You were there to accept it. Then? You got it. You got it! And the day it came and you weren’t able to accept it, you missed it. You missed it.
I’m not here to tell you what you should do or you shouldn’t do. What I am here to tell you is whatever you do and don’t do, don’t miss it. Don’t miss it.
Many people in their lives, they see things not going their way; they start losing hope, and the next thing you know, calamity. But it takes courage to have hope; it takes courage to have clarity. And when there is that courage....
This is what’s beautiful. If you get angry, you know what you will be rewarded by? Anger. Just think about it, right? You get angry; you’ll be rewarded by anger. What is the reward of anger? Either you will get more angry.... Maybe, maybe you begin by being angry with your friend, and the next thing you know, you’re also angry with yourself—for being angry at your friend.
Anger rewards anger; anger begets anger. Fear rewards fear. You get afraid of being afraid—and that’s when it really sets in. It’s more than the boogeyman in the closet. Now, you’re afraid to be in the room; you’re afraid to be alive. “Oh my God....”
But...but what is the reward of hope? It brings you more hope. What is the reward of joy? It brings you more joy. What is the reward of happiness? It brings you more happiness. What is the reward of knowledge? It brings you more knowledge. What is the reward of being content? It brings you more contentment. What is the reward of knowing? It brings you more knowing.
This is how it is. This is how it’s always been.

As we get older, a lot of us feel anxiety. And what does that anxiety come from? It comes from fear, not knowing what’s going to happen to us.
There are things that make us afraid. If we don’t keep the doors of this,
the chambers of the heart clean, then all this garbage settles in. Because our propensity is to doubt that which we shouldn’t doubt.
And because we doubt that which we shouldn’t doubt, what happens? We don’t accept what the reality is. When we don’t accept what the reality is? Everything becomes fake. Everything becomes relative.
Then what is the value of life? Are you thankful? Or not thankful? Which one is it?
One day – and we talked about that here, first; this is one of those Amaroo exclusives:
“Two walls. You came through one wall; you’re going to hit the other wall.” And people are like, “Oh my God, I don’t want to hit that other wall.” Then you shouldn’t have come through the other wall.
What should you be busy doing? You should be busy filling yourself with gratitude, being thankful for having had this opportunity to be here.
I mean, what a show it has been. Truly, what a show it has been. Magnificent. And all you had to do was accept it. The show that you accepted, filled you.
The one that you questioned and wondered and doubted, the moment fled, never, ever to come back.
How do I see it? I see that people are just lost in their concepts.
Take that away… It’s all you have to do is take that away. And something becomes very apparent. Something becomes extremely clear. Something becomes incredibly obvious. That I am a part of that divine. That divine is in me. And that divine never came through that wall, and it’s not going to go through that other wall. That’s me too. And yes, there is a part of me
that did come through that wall and is going to go through that other wall.
But which percentage am I in touch with? The one that goes through the wall? Or the one that doesn’t go through the wall? Which one?
Because when you know, “Ah! There is a part of me that’s not going anywhere – has the same trait and characteristics of the divine: ‘Was. Is. And will be’” – have no reason for fear.
Now you tell me, how should your life be? Should we really be talking about contentment? Should we really be talking about clarity? Should we really be talking about being happy? Well, maybe not. Maybe we should be talking about more serious things.
But then, who is going to convince your heart – your heart – that you can live without clarity, that you can live without simplicity, that you can live in this paradox? Who? Who?! Who?! Who will convince?
This is that time! There’s nothing practical anymore. It’s like, “No, let’s be realistic!” “Well, realistic, what?! What realism are you talking about?” But all this “reality” that people talk about, “Oh, be realistic! We have obligations in this world” – sure, go right ahead. What obligations? What obligations?
And I was thinking about this. And I know a lot of people, and I love them. And then there will be a time when I have to go; I have to move on. And when I do, that’s it. I will never meet those people again, ever. Never, ever. (Never ever, ever? Never, ever?) Ever.
I want you to think about that. If you have family, I want you to think about that. Because this is your time to look them in the eyes. And let them know how much you love them.
It’s so final. So incredibly final. Those who you love need to know that you, you love them. To understand that! You see the importance?
No, but what do you harbor? Anger. You harbor fear. You harbor all those things that’ll do you no good. And you do not allow the love, the kindness, the caring to truly surface. That’s how it has to be.
Look, there is that which is important, and then there is all that that is not important. And what is not important, let it go; shake it off; let it roll off the shoulders. Don’t invite it to yourself. Just say, ‘Go away.’ And what’s important, bring it.
Ultimately, the person who lives every day and admires every moment, cannot possibly have fear of death. Because he knows this very simple thing – this came to me one day, how simple it was. Because people call me. Somebody close to them dies; they are dying; they call.
I was in Honolulu; I didn’t want to do an event – because I wanted to save it. Should have done it, well, not saved it but – ended up talking to a lady who was diagnosed with a very severe disease. She wanted to meet me; I met her and I talked to her.
I said, “It’s simple as this. If I’m not here, I’m somewhere else.” Right? Right? [Audience: Yes.] Do you understand that: “If I’m not here, I’m somewhere else”? So, before I came out here, I was not here; I was backstage. Before that, I was at my house. So, if I’m not here, I’m somewhere else!
Okay, don’t overthink; it’s really simple. If I’m not here, I’m somewhere else, right? [Audience: Yes.] There is your answer: “If you’re not here, you’re somewhere else” – if you can understand that. It’s profound. But it’s so incredibly simple. Because I have understood the “I” in the “am.” I have understood the “I” in the “I am.”
And when you understand the “I” in the “I am,” then you understand, “If I’m not here, I’m somewhere else.” A lot of you are dumbstruck, going, “Why’-wha’-wha’, wha’-wha’-why’-wha’?”
I just solved the quandary for you of “What happens to me when I die?” I just did. Because when I am not here, I am somewhere else. Because that “I” in the “I am” is indestructible. And that is what it means to know the self: you understand the “I.”
You were trying to understand the whole package: “I am.” “I am” will not be around. When you die, you will not be “I am.” The “am,” (a-m) will stay. The “I,” if it’s not here, will be somewhere else.
An excerpt:
People say, “There’s so much greed in this world.” Yes, there is! But why is there greed? Why is there greed? You think human beings are only capable of greed? No, human beings are also capable of generosity.
I just want the wind to blow so you can fly the kite. I want the river to run. I want the well to be full of water, so you can be in the glory of a human being—the glory of a human being. The flower that blooms, blooms! Petals open, colors vibrant, beauty unmatched, fragrance, hypnotizing. Bloom! That’s what needs to happen!
Know! Know that the peace dwells in your heart, not because I said it, but because you felt it. That’s knowing. Know that that Divine dwells in your heart, not because I said it—because you felt it, not one day, not two days, not three days, but all your life. This is the realm. There is no time—there is no “young”; there is no “old.” It is the same for everyone.
When spring comes, it comes the same for everyone—like a baby, a hundred-year-old, a fifty-year-old, forty, thirty, twenty. It comes for everyone in the same way. When the summer comes, it is the same way. When it is fall, it is the same way. When it is the winter, it is the same way.
Let the season of peace come in your life. The time has come. The time has come; let the season of peace come in your life.
