Millions and millions of years in the making for you to be alive today—for you, you! I mean…I mean, you. I mean, you … as a…that person.
I mean, what is absolutely fascinating—that you are identical to the person sitting next to you, and you’re not. You’re made out of the same elements that the person sitting next to you is—oxygen, hydrogen, carbon, calcium, nitrogen, and phosphorus; 99.9 percent of you, this is what you’re made out of.
“So, what if the person sitting next to you is a woman? Surely they’re made out of something different, right?”
For those of you who have always thought this, I have some bad news. They’re not! They’re identical. The basic elements are identical.
And yet, how you think is entirely different from the person sitting next to you. How you smile is totally different; how you laugh is totally different; what makes you sad is totally different, and in fact, what makes you happy is totally different. Totally different.
So, I have never seen such a similarity, and such a difference—but the difference is not in what you are made of. The difference is how you react, how you express, how you take in, how you synthesize.
And what it means to you to be alive!

Don’t worry—I am not a politician. I’m not going to be in…I’m not in politics; I’m not going to run for politics; politics is not my thing. I want to bring people together; I don’t want to divide them.
And that’s why I don’t put any labels…I don’t want to use any labels. People would love to give me a label. I don’t want any labels.
People say, “Oh, you are Ambassador of Peace.” I want everybody to be Ambassador of Peace—everyone! Because that’s what your possibility is; that’s what your potential is. This is what you can achieve in this life. You should be an Ambassador of Peace. You should be.
One little…one little act of kindness goes a long way—one little act of kindness. But what do we believe in? “Thank you.” So, this is what the mother teaches the little boy: “Say thank you.”
He doesn’t know what ‘thank you’ means—so he looks up and he goes, “Thank you.” And what are you teaching that little kid? Do you know what you’re teaching that little kid? “Say something you don’t understand.”
Instead of teaching the kid, “Did you feel good when somebody gave you this? Did you like it?” The child will say, “Yes!” “Then, take that liking that you have, and share a little bit of it back.” That’s what gratitude is. That’s all gratitude is.
If somebody did something for you, and it felt good, then give them a little bit of that goodness back.

I always say, “What is the most important thing about reading a map? You need to know where you are on the map. And you got to.... If you have figured out where you want to go, but you don’t know where you are....
Have you been to a supermarket or one of those big shopping malls, and they have those little maps that nobody can figure out? At least they say, “You are here!” But you need to know that.
What do you think a GPS actually tells you? A satellite constellation that is out there actually just calculates your position—your “current position.” That’s all it does. After that, it’s the rest of the algorithms and this and that which figure out, “You need to turn left, right.” Da-da—that doesn’t come from GPS. That’s all in the software in that little unit.
All the GPS really does, it just tells you, “You are here.” Have you figured out, “You are here”? And Where is that “here”? Here. What’s taking place here?
Life is taking place here. This breath is coming into you—here. This is where you are; you are here. And here is this breath, coming into you and bringing you life. And you are alive.
And what does that mean? Everybody is busy trying to escape their problems. And it doesn’t matter where they go; the problems come—follow them. Have you been to Mauritius? Beautiful place. There’s a British Airways flight that goes from England, so a lot of people from England hang out there.
So like, and well, why do the English come here? It’s a pretty place. Oh, when people get divorced or something like that, or their boyfriend dumps them or something, they come looking for romance, and they come to Mauritius. I’ve seen them on the beach; they bring their problem with them.
So, people go all the way to Mauritius and the problem is still there. People go to Australia. The problem is still there. So we try to run away from our problems, but we can’t run away from our problems.
Have you tried that one place where it says, “You are here”—to see if your problems go there too? Because that’s one place your problems don’t exist. Only you do. Only life does. Only life. Only this moment—its pure magic of being alive, being able to feel—the joy. The greatness, the beauty of existence. Existence!
This is the realm of the heart. A lot of people will go, “Well, where is the heart?”—right? And rest assured, there is a place inside of you—somewhere; doesn’t matter—where the courage in me resides—the courage to be in that place called, “You are here.”

It takes courage to have hope. Many people in their lives, they see things not going their way; they start losing hope—and the next thing you know, calamity.
But it takes courage to have hope; it takes courage to have clarity. And when there is that courage, (ha!) this is what’s beautiful.
If you get angry, you know what you will be rewarded by? Anger. Just think about it, right? You get angry, you’ll be rewarded by anger. What is the reward of anger? Either you will get more angry.... Maybe you begin by being angry with your friend, and the next thing you know, you’re also angry with yourself, for being angry at your friend.
Anger rewards anger. Anger begets anger. Fear rewards fear—you get afraid of being afraid. And that’s when it really sets in. It’s more than the boogeyman in the closet. Now you’re afraid to be in the room; you’re afraid to be alive. “Oh my God....”
But what is the reward of hope? It brings you more hope. What is the reward of joy? It brings you more joy. What is the reward of happiness? It brings you more happiness. What is the reward of knowledge? It brings you more knowledge.
What is the reward of being content? It brings you more contentment. What is the reward of knowing? It brings you more knowing. This is how it is.

Whatever happens in your life, the goodness is in you; the joy is in you; the clarity is in you; the peace is in you. This is what makes a human a human. That’s what makes you so special: that we have the possibility to feel peace, this power to reason, this power to be able to communicate, this power to be able to understand, this power to be able to transfer knowledge, to understand and fulfill, as a human being. Try! Try, in your life.
That positive effort that you make towards knowing yourself, every step that you take, will not go in vain—whoever you are. In the realm of knowing, age does not matter. Age doesn’t matter!
Because you’re not trying to create peace. See, if you were trying to create peace, then age would matter because your physical dexterity and strength would all come into play.
That process of peace is undoing, not doing. Anybody can undo. It’s removing those blocks that are here, to be able to get to that heart where that courage resides, where the simplicity resides within you.

One day there was a rabbit. And this rabbit was going along in the jungle, and a huge lion jumped out. Huge! And the lion said, “I’m going to eat you.” And the rabbit said, “I am finished! I better think quickly…something.” So the rabbit says to the lion, he says, “No! You cannot eat me.”
The lion looked at the rabbit, and says, “Hey! You are just a little rabbit. My teeth are bigger than yours. What do you mean, I can’t eat you? Of course I can eat you.” He says, “No, you cannot eat me because I am the lord of the jungle.”
The lion said, “No, you are not the lord of the jungle; I am the lord of the jungle.” “No, I am,” the rabbit said, “the lord of the jungle. So, the rabbit said, “I can prove it.” The lion said, “Okay, prove it.” The rabbit said, “Follow me. And you will see how all the animals in the jungle are afraid of me.”
So, if you can imagine, there is a little rabbit and behind him is the big lion. And the animals, they see towards that direction—they see the big lion, and they’re afraid, and they run! The lion sees the rabbit in front and he says, “This is true! Look how every animal is afraid of the rabbit!” The lion turned around and ran away.
Why? Because the lion did not know himself. We talk about human potential! How are we going to achieve human potential when we do not know us? What you are looking for is within you! Do you know that? Do you know that? Truly? Or do you go to everything else looking for that?
